Tooth Extraction

Dont ya just hate going to the dentist? I do. I have since I was a young child. Military dentist ruined it for me. I have had the same dentist for over 30 years now and the same oral surgeon for 28 years. I trust him the most. Didnt feel a thing once the Novocaine kicked in. He is just so great. Dr Campbell is the best. Thank you for not making this hurt one bit. I just love him.

Just a quick check in.

Well, I got the job so I am heading to Florida but there is so much to do before that can happen. I felt very overwhelmed today so I did not get to focus on this blog. Ever have one of those days? If I could have run away, I would have. I stopped answering my phone at 5. No lie!  Hope tomorrow is better but it, too, will be a run around day. Pretty much expect it to be that way until I head down there.

Big changes are coming. Hope you come along for the ride.

My Last Halloween Treat holder....whew!

Well I am at the end of my Halloween run here. These are called holiday crackers. I made them out of toilet paper rolls, tissue paper and digi downloads from Brenda, who is Brendahdp77 on YT. Her store is Wicked Designs.
First I put candy treats inside the tube. Then I covered it with yellow tissue paper which I affixed with a small piece of sticky tape. Then I wrapped it in coordinating scrapbook paper (construction paper will work just as well), then affixed my digis to it. Digis are digital images you can buy. Tied the ends with black ribbon.
Instant gift for someone.

Cute Rustic Pumpkins!

Hi Everyone!

Wow, I cant believe I have had 17 views this morning. I am so thrilled and honored. Thank you so much for stopping by. I wanted to show you guys these adorable little pumpkins I made a few weeks  back.  I made them out of scrapbook paper that had fall colors because I want to use them through Thanksgiving,

I took my large and medium circle punch and cut out appx. 16 cirlcles. I foled them in half, snipped a slice off the top and the bottom (smaller slice than on top)  and glued them to each other. Before I glued the last two together, I added a some trim as the stem and a paper leaf.

They came out so adorable, dont ya think? Give it a shot.

Treat Bags for Halloween!

Halloween is 11 days away and I am trying to wrap up all the projects I had planned to make. Well one of them is goody bags.  The bags are inspired by Angie Juda on YT. They are fashioned after her 2-3-6-8 bags she makes. I changed the sizes a wee bit so I could have a bigger bag to stuff with wonderful candy treats.

The Digi Downloads are from Brenda's Wickedly Twisted Crafter store. I am a guest Design Team member for the months of October, November and December. Brenda is also having a fall challenge going on right now too. There is still time to enter.

 A hairstyling accessory. Its a PVC plumbing joint. Ofcourse us crafters will make it look prettier than that.

Pins and Needles

Hi Guys,

Oh my, waiting for a decision is causing me some serious issues. It always comes down to the money. I offered to come down from my current rate to 6 dollars less and they still cant give me an answer until tomorrow. So I drove down late last night, 350 miles to a  nice town in Florida. It is 40 minutes to the beach. Its a rural small hospital but busy. Interviewed this am until 2 pm. Then checked out a few places to live and drove 350 miles back.

 I know there are so many people out of work like I am and my heart aches for all of them. I hate not working. I hate this whole process.

I will say the hotel was nice though.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Happy Crafty Sunday to Ya!

Who doesnt love a scary monster? I decided to make a mini album using the Monsters and Robots paper stack. Its fun and they are so cute. I made it while watching the Syfy show The Haven. Have you seen that? Just love it. Went on a weekend marathon to catch up for this season. 4 more shows to go before a new show on Friday.

Just a friendly reminder that The Walking Dead premieres tonight. You know Ill be in front of the TV tonight at 9pm.

Five Fabulous Finds on Pinterest

 Found all these cute things this week on Pinterest. A delicate bee ring, Halloween fudge, Mushroom cheese lasagna roll ups, turkey veggie plate and a cute bear coat.

I really love Pinterest. There are so many creative goodies to be found on there. It doesnt cost anything to be a part of it. To me, it is just a wealth of knowledge that is located in just one spot. I do what I call my daily scroll on there and find goodies to pin to my board.

Halloween Wishes

Just wanted to share with you one of the many Halloween cards I am sending out this weekend. I used Pumkin Birgitta, a CC Designs stamp on this one. Regular Michaels  cardstock called the Spice Market. Beautiful fall colors in this pack. I punched out with my EK scalloped punches the greeting and used a studio g stamp with it. I affixed a ribbon boutique orange ribbon behind it to make the greeting. This is a easel card and so easy to make. You can find videos on YT. On the bottom is a punched trim using another EK punch and then I used a bat ribbon from Recollections. To make sure the easel doesnt go past the correct spot, I affixed a small cardboard button to the punched trim. 

Coloring took me 5 minutes, Assembly took 5 minutes.

Gorgeous Fall Day! Perfect picture for the 10th day of October.

Hi Everyone.

What a beautiful fall day we have here in Georgia.  We had to run over to the cemetery today to snap a picture and we found the geese/or mallards frolicking in the water today. Caught this perfect shot of one just landing and one coming in for a landing. I think Im gonna make this my desk top picture for a while. These birds are so use to being here they will walk right up to you and take food from you. Gods creatures. Its a shame humans are not more like them.

I think I see sun on the horizon.

I am headed to Florida next week for my third interview with a hospital down there. The first was short and sweet. The second was today and it a really good one. Its been a few months since I have scanned and Im really looking forward to this.

Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

For this ninth day of October, in celebration of Halloween, I think Im going to take a nap. I am worn out.

SHAME on you STAPLES!

Boy oh boy, how many of you rushed over to Staples the other night and ordered Copic Markers because they were listed at a great price? I did. How many of you are now as frustrated as I am? Show those hands.

I emailed every email address I could find related to Staples and let them know their error is not our error and they should honor the agreement between buyer and seller. Lets see if I hear back from anyone. I told them they should take it out of their IT hind but honor what they advertised. An angry customer is a worse thing to have than to lose a few dollars here and there.

Will we ever see those Copics, no! Will I ever shop at Staples again, no!

What are you doing this October month?

I love Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays. It is one of those "hey, I had a great time as a child" memories and I want it to be that way for others. I don't go over the top with outdoor decorations. In fact, we have only had one spooky outdoor decoration over the years. Im more of a fall decorator so I can stretch the decorations to Thanksgiving. 

So in honor of the month of October, the beginning of fall and the holidays to come, I do something Halloween-ish everyday. This is what I have done so far:
October 1st-Watched Ghost Lab repeats on Netflix. Yup, had to get in the mood.
October 2nd- Worked on a fall banner.
October 3rd - Made a banner. Check out my blog, it was so easy to make.
October 4th- Im watching the Shining while making Fall/Halloween cards.

Its just a start but I love this month. What are you doing today? Let us know.

Second DT project for WIcked Designs by Brenda

I knew right away when I saw Brenda's Halloween Bottle Caps digi that I had to have them. I knew exactly what I was going to use them for. I knew I wanted to make a vertical hanger for my front door.

I used a cork as the main part of the hanger.
Bronze chain,
Orange ribbon form the Ribbon Boutique. I placed the ribbon on both sides of the cork. Then I made a loop with a longer piece, appx 18inches. I trimmed it off at the end.
Metal bottle caps from Mikes Lite...thanks to my son.
Printed the digis and affixed them to bottle caps using Recollections dimensionals.
Affixed the bottle caps to the orange ribbon.
I made two orange, black and white stick pins.
I attached a black flower with a pearl center to the cork then attached the two stick pins.
Easy Peasy thats for sure.
