Its A Snow Day In Southwest Georgia!

 Its a snow day.
Someone had the nerve to walk on my snow.
 2.5 to 3 inches.
My pot survived. Forgot to bring it in.
 No swimming today.
Georgia Swamp Oaks...water oaks. Our yard is filled with them.
Even the cracks in the wall got snow.
We have the type of gutters that you never have to clean out but they couldnt stop the icicles from forming.
Time to come inside. Its beautiful from here.

I am one of those southerners who loves snow. I have been lucky enough to travel places where snow occurs and you learn to drive in it. I wish it would have snowed more but folks would have gone bonkos around here.

Im gonna enjoy it. It probably will stay a day or two and then be gone. Thankful it came for a little while.

We are having a YT hop...come join us.

Brendahdp77 is having a YT Hop celebrating her new digi Young Love and she is so cute. Here is the project I made for this hop. Go to my YT channel for all the details. There are giveaways going on. All the details are there.

I used the Michaels Melodies and Lace paper pack. Created the heart by cutting into strips, forming into a heart( you can find this on Pinterest by the way) . Then I added a crochet doily. Next a hand made tag was made, a small MS doily on top of that . Some flowers, a small chipboard tag with flatback pearls and ofcourse the cute digi called Young Love.

Join in the fun. http://www.youtube.com/user/63sonotech there are prized involved but you have to follow the rules.

Its Time for Finds of the Week....Valentines Day!

I want you to get in the mood for love and romance with this blog today. The one thing that is free in life is the love we give to one another. Sure gifts are nice but just loving someone and not hurting them is the nicest thing one can do for another. Hope you enjoy these finds and maybe use them this Valentines Day!

This has been my favorite find so far. Is it not just so beautiful? I know crafty folks will like this but for those of you who arent, Im sure a nursery can do form and greens for you. Then go to the dollar store, find some floral wire and felt hearts (I know michaels or joanns) will have them, so lace and beads and use the picture for guidance.

Okay now listen up men, this one is easy. Go buy a plant, grab some paint, foam letters and a small mylar balloon and you will see one happy lady.

Way, way cool and so in right now. But the awesome part is these are made of sugar. Who would have thought. The first link is where I found it and the second link is where the first link said to go. So I did.

Last of the Appalachian Trail

photo jbc

I dont know about you but I could live here forever if I had the money to do so. Peaceful country living.
photo jbc
Here is a valley shot we got from atop the scenic drive. Who needs a city when you can have this?
photo jbc
Anyone care for a glass of wine? Guess we have to wait until the grapes grow first.

3115 feet in the air. Boy could you feel it. The picture above is an original log cabin we found tucked into the winding road of the scenic drive.
photo jbc
I love barns. I will stop and take a picture of a barn anytime. However, Im really starting to like silos too. They, too, are falling from the landscape.
photo jbc
 Eat more chicken!
photo jbc
Pretty flowers on the roadside. This red tree below just popped against the green scape with the purple flowers in the background.

Farewell my friend. Such a beautiful place. Lots of roadside stores, antique and thrift stores to shop and the regular country store to get some edibles. I tell ya, we stayed on the scenic drive for about 4 hours and it was time to get off of the curvy turns and I think the height was getting to us but Im glad we did cause we found so many wonderful sights and sounds and people that we would never have found had we just stayed at the tip top of the trail. I will go back in fall and winter to see it in its glory.

More sights of the Appalachian Trail

photo jbc

This home was tucked into the woods near Charlottesville. Very nice home and land.
photo jbc
The University of Virginia. Very nice town (Charlottesville) and college.
photo jbc
Just look at that mountain. We went over it.
photo jbc
 Dont look down.
photo jbc
Yes you could tell the difference. Tomorrow Ill show close ups of that valley below.
photo jbc
What a difference a 1000 feet is. Beautiful as far as the eye can see.
photo jbc
Rock on one side, drop off on the other. A no win situation.
photo jbc
Now this was pretty neat find.
photo jbc
A lovely farm. Reminded me of Germany.
photo jbc
This is a very old spot. Just look at that water wheel. Awesome find.
photo jbc
I have no idea what this is but I did not want to be behind it or near it in the event it were to blow up.
photo jbc
The road had such a steep decline it had many of these runaway ramps for trucks. I can only imagine how scary it must be to have to use one of those.

I can only imagine how much more beautiful the AT is in fall and winter. I might get the chance to see winter in a few weeks if I get the lower Ohio travel job. Yes I will take pictures. Thanks for stopping by. More AT pics tomorrow.

I found these in my picture folder and thought you might enjoy these beautiful shots of a waterfall we came across coming down the App Trail.

I was tired of driving on the windy road of the AP. I told my son that lets find the highway. Well in order to find it, we had to take several backroads and when we did, this beauty found us. It is on private property but they let us take pictures. It is so beautiful. I hope you will enjoy the sights and sounds of this video.

Thanks for stopping by today. Mona :)
